Frank Marino

2nd Vice President

 

My name is Frank Marino. I’m a born and raised Staten Islander, having lived in New Dorp for 28 years and Great Kills over the last decade. I attended PS 41, IS 2, New Dorp High School and briefly studied at the College of Staten Island.

In my professional career I’ve spent parts of 20 years in three separate labor unions within New York City and the last 17 of those years I’ve been a proud Operating Engineer, operating Heavy Equipment on any Union construction site within NYC. I’m the father of two beautiful and amazing daughters that are the light of my life and since becoming a Dad, it has compelled me to take part, try to make a difference and get involved in service to the community. This past June I was just re-elected to my second term on the Community Education Council District 31. I’m also a board member and treasurer of the HOA community that my family and I live at. One of my absolute favorite jobs has been being the manager of my oldest daughter's softball team and being an assistant coach of my youngest daughters' team. Sports was always such a large part of my life and I get such joy out of seeing my kids excel at all they do. I believe in service, giving back and helping the community for the greater good. While we strive to give our children the best lives possible, we have to prepare them for the road of life ahead and I feel that it’s crucial for us to do our part to leave the community and in this case the New York City Public Schooling System in a better place than when we got it. If we help even just one child or make a small incremental step in to bettering the school environment, then it’s worth all the time and effort.
